Privacy Policy
Last update: 04/05/2026
Welcome to the La Maison du Marais website. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use and share data when you visit our website.
Please note: our website currently does not include any contact form, sign-up form or newsletter subscription. We therefore do not collect any data that you would directly provide to us (name, email, phone, etc.). To reach us, our email address and phone number are listed in the footer.
1. Data collected
When you visit our website, the following data may be collected:
- Browsing data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, length of visit. This information is collected via our analytics tool (Google Analytics), only after you consent through the cookie banner.
- Server logs: kept by our host for technical and security purposes (retention period: 12 months maximum).
- Cookie preferences: your accept/refuse choice is stored locally in your browser.
2. Purposes
The data above is used for:
- Anonymous audience measurement: to understand how the site is used (most-visited pages, navigation paths) — only if you have given your consent.
- Security: intrusion prevention and incident investigations.
- Site improvement: aggregated statistics to evolve content and usability.
No data is used for prospecting, direct marketing or advertising profiling.
3. Cookies and consent
When you arrive on the site, a banner lets you accept, refuse or customise cookies. Only strictly necessary cookies (session management, storing your choices) are placed without your consent. Audience-measurement cookies (Google Analytics) are activated only after explicit acceptance. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookies" link in the footer.
4. Data sharing
Your data may be shared with:
- Google (Google Analytics): provider of the analytics tool. Data is anonymised. Google's privacy policy
- Our host: for the technical storage of the site and the retention of server logs.
- Legally authorised authorities: only if required by law.
No personal data is transferred for commercial purposes.
5. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data against unauthorised access (HTTPS, security updates, restricted back-office access). As no method of transmission over the Internet is fully secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Retention
- Google Analytics data: 14 months maximum (default setting), anonymised.
- Server logs: 12 months maximum.
- Cookie preferences: 13 months (the banner reappears after that).

- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction or objection to processing
- Lodging a complaint with the French data-protection authority CNIL (www.cnil.fr)
